Briefing / VAT round-up April 2024

Introduction

This round-up is a brief update on the issues discussed at the HFMA’s VAT Sub-committee as well as other VAT/ tax issues in the NHS. We aim to publish this in the month after each meeting.

Tax Centre of Excellence

The site is available for anyone working in the NHS to access free of charge. 
Anyone wanting to register needs to go to the following link: https://gff.civilservice.gov.uk/communities/centres-of-excellence/tax-centre-of-excellence/ 

Registration permission is based on the domain name of the email so nhs.net and nhs.uk emails will be accepted. Any issues with registration are likely to be because the site does not list all the NHS bodies separately - instead it simply shows NHS England. Therefore, please select NHS England as your organisation and you will be able to access the website when combined with an nhs.net or nhs.uk email domain.
