Briefing / Finance director survey 2006
Finance directors have hit back at criticism of financial management standards in the NHS, although there is wide recognition that standards will need to improve to meet the challenges ahead. The past year has been dominated by concerns over rising financial pressures in the NHS, with many organisations, particularly in England, looking to restore financial balance across their health economies.
In a major new survey by the HFMA of nearly 160 finance directors, the finance function’s most senior managers rejected any suggestion that standards of financial management are falling.
