Speaker / Sam Simpson

 Sam is currently the Interim Director of Strategic Finance for NHS England North West. Previously Sam was the Chief Finance Officer for NHS Greater Manchester (GM), which is the Integrated Care Board established on 1st July 2022.

Sam has worked in the NHS for over 25 years, since joining the North West Financial Management Training Scheme, and has held senior finance roles in commissioner, provider and strategic health authority, all in the North West. 

Prior to joining NHS GM, Sam was the Director of Finance for Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, and previously the Director of Finance for the Cheshire and Merseyside Sustainability Transformation Partnership.

She spent two years at Greater Manchester Police and has experience of working in
local authorities and the education sector.
