Speaker / Emma Wheatley

Emma is a consultant in Intensive and Anaesthesia. She is the lead for Human factors within her Trust (Bolton NHS FT) and has extensive teaching and learning experience. She has an interest in patient safety, error management and the process of investigation, ensuring a fair process for staff and patients. It’s also important that any error is investigated fully to reduce the chance of repeated error.

Emma believes that staff wellbeing is essential to improve safety and reduce error and is an active member of the wellbeing team and uses HF to demonstrate the benefits. She runs a staff support group for those involved in incidents and leads Schwartz rounds. Emma is also a qualified leadership coach
