News alert / Scotland health minister appointment
Neil Gray has been named as Scotland’s new secretary for NHS recovery, health and social care, following the resignation of Michael Matheson. Mr Matheson resigned from the post this week ahead of a report into an £11,000 data roaming bill on his parliamentary iPad. Mr Gray is the SNP MSP for Airdrie and Shotts. In March 2022, he became minister for culture, Europe and international development, and since 2023 he has served as Scotland's secretary for well-being economy, fair work and energy.
