News alert / Providers raise financial concerns
More than three quarters of trust leaders said their trusts were ‘very unlikely’ or ‘unlikely’ to end 2023/24 in a better financial position than 2022/23, according to NHS Providers. The body’s State of the provider sector 2023 report highlighted the costs of industrial action, inflation and under-delivery of cost improvement plans as their key financial concerns. More than nine in 10 trust leaders were also concerned about the impact of seasonal pressures over winter. (See News.)
