News alert / NHS doctors organise three-day coordinated strike
Consultants and junior doctors across England walked out this week for a joint, three-day strike between 2 and 4 October. They were also joined for one day on 3 October by radiographers, with the Society of Radiographers wanting to raise awareness of staff shortages, low pay and excessive working hours. Doctors’ union the British Medical Association this week offered to call off further strikes if the government put forward a credible offer, and indicated that the union was willing for conciliation service ACAS to be involved to find a resolution.
