News alert / Junior doctors to strike again
Junior doctors in England will strike from 7am on Saturday 24 February to midnight on Wednesday 28 February after talks between the British Medical Association and the government broke down again. According to the BMA, progress was being made in talks, but the government failed to meet the deadline of 8 February to present a credible offer. The union said it offered to cancel the strikes to allow more time for negotiations on the condition that the health secretary extended the mandate for strike action for four weeks. However no extension was offered.
