News alert / Home testing for bowel cancer
NHS England has announced that hundreds of thousands more people will be sent a home-testing kit that can help detect signs of bowel cancer. The age that people start to receive a testing kit will be reduced from 60 to 54, with eligible people automatically receive a home-test kit every two years. The phased expansion means an additional 830,000 people in England will be eligible for the screening test. London, which has the lowest uptake in the country, is among the first places to roll out to this age group.
