Webinar / Progress with the new hospital programme – the view from the NAO
This summer, the National Audit Office published its report on Progress with the New Hospital Programme. The report found delays in decision-making and in building new hospitals since the programme was first announced in October 2020. Just recently, government has had to make major adjustments to the list of new hospitals to be built, with some schemes now facing substantial delay. The attempt to standardize hospital design in England – Hospital 2.0 – is taking longer than expected and the NAO found a risk that assumptions underpinning the design could lead to future hospitals being too small.
This webinar set out the work the NAO undertook, the conclusions it reached and what these mean for the NHS.
