Event / Off-payroll working rules (IR35): tax offsetting consultation and potential NHS impact

11:00, 7 June 2023

Registration for this event is closed. If you have a registration/booking for this event, please login to access the resources on the event page below.

This webinar provides further information on the proposed legislative change to allow HMRC to account for taxes already paid by a worker and/or their intermediary when calculating the liability due from public sector clients, where an error has been made in applying the off-payroll working rules. This is a significant area for NHS bodies and we would encourage anyone involved with IR35 assessments in the sector to attend.

The Tax Centre of Excellence website is available for anyone working in the NHS to access free of charge. Anyone wanting to register needs to go to the following link: https://gff.civilservice.gov.uk/communities/centres-of-excellence/tax-centre-of-excellence/

Registration permission is based on the domain name of the email so nhs.net and nhs.uk emails will be accepted. Any issues with registration are likely to be because the site does not list all of the NHS bodies separately - instead it simply shows NHS England. Therefore, please select NHS England as your organisation and you will be able to access the website when combined with an nhs.net or nhs.uk email domain.

To be added to mailing lists email [email protected]

The background to this proposal can be found here, along with a link to HMRC’s consultation on the proposed legislative change and an HMRC factsheet on record keeping requirements for public sector clients.

The session is delivered jointly by HMRC and Tax Centre of Excellence. You will have the opportunity to ask questions in the session, or alternatively you can raise questions in advance by emailing [email protected]
