KSS 2

Most people who die by suicide are not in contact with mental health services – they are right here in our community.
Our 1 hour Real Talk Webinar for suicide awareness, designed for someone to understand causes and risk factors for suicide, along with learning some skills to recognise the signs of someone who may be suicidal. Participants of the webinar will also increase confidence in having the initial conversation with them and will be provided resources for use to help them after the course.
Some things we cover:
• Should we talk about suicide?
• Some common myths about suicide, how they affect us and how they affect our community
• How you can start conversations about suicide
• Practical resources to support ourselves and people we care about
Learning Aims:
1. To understand causes and risk factors for suicide
2. To be able to recognise the signs that someone may be suicidal
3. To increase confidence to talk openly and directly about suicide
4. To understand the limits of our role and learn about local/national resources.
Real Talk makes it easier for you to help start conversations. Conversations that could quite literally make the difference between life and death.
