Procurement and Sustainability
In October 2020, the NHS published the 'Delivering a Net Zero National Health Service' report in which it identified that 62% of all NHS carbon emissions are generated in the supply chain. Procurement are a leading workstream and one of the largest areas of contribution to achieving sustainability objectives.
Here at Portsmouth University Hospitals NHS Trust, we are looking at ways that Procurement can help support and influence the sustainability agenda, looking at Social Value, achieving the goal of SAS – Savings and Sustainability, National and Local Initiatives, Challenges encountered, Working with Clinical Colleagues, and Sustainability Metrics.
