Sarah is passionate about EDI and making the NHS a great place to work.
HFMA London Branch Diversity and Inclusion award winner Sarah has taken on several roles in addition to her full-time role to advocate Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace, including:
- The London Regional Women in Leadership network
Sarah has been instrumental in setting up the regional Women in Leadership network and is a key member of the Picture of Leadership workstream, aimed at promoting senior women leaders career journeys and what leadership means to them.
Sarah also hosted a Q&A panel supporting the Male Allies workstream at the National WIL Conference and is currently supporting the London CFOs’ action plan and commitments to Gender Equity across London. Sarah is also the London regional rep on the National Women in Leadership Board.
- NHS England London Finance Team EDI Group
Sarah also formed and leads on the NHSE internal Finance Team EDI Group for over three years.
The EDI group under Sarah’s leadership has gone on to raise cultural awareness across the finance team, educate the team on the impact of microaggressions and publicise processes to follow for cases of potential discrimination.
Through Sarah’s ongoing hard work, and her positive and collaborative way of working, the EDI and wider agenda has become embedded in the London regional finance team’s culture and values.
