The HFMA Policy and Research Committee provides a national forum for discussing healthcare finance policy and agreeing the HFMA’s policy views. It oversees the development of the HFMA’s annual policy and technical work programme and supports the HFMA executive team in undertaking research into financial and related issues as well as providing advice and guidance on how the HFMA should respond to consultations and submissions to Parliamentary Committees.

National areas of focus include: integrated care systems; delivering value with digital technologies; health inequalities; prevent and population health; value, efficiency and costing; financial management and reporting; governance and audit; environmental sustainability; workforce and diversity.

The East of England Branch is looking to establish an equivalent local group.

Designed to support staff at any/all levels from Band 2 upwards, with projects that they may be involved in at work (to act as a sounding board, or as a source of ideas, comparatives or evidence) or in their personal development (e.g. dissertations/case studies), as well as to contribute to the work of the National Policy and Research Committee where appropriate.

The Lunch and Lesson session is designed to discuss the work of the group and allow members to see if it is something which they would like to be involved in.   The members of the group will set the agenda, frequency and duration of (MS Teams) meetings, etc.

The target audience for this session is anyone with an inquisitive mind.

Join Lisa Robertson and Keith Wood to find out more about the work of the national policy and technical team and how you can get involved locally.
