Event / HFMA Eastern Branch: Lunch & Learn - ICSs
This session will look at the proposed Integrated Care Systems as potential Strategic Investment Boards. We will consider the likely calls on funds-capital and revenue- to deliver the policies set out in the Long Term Plan and the recently updated Science, Diagnostics and Genomics Strategy:
- Developing cancer and cardiovascular centres including prevention, early diagnostics and rehabilitation services.
- Developing surgical services including new imaging and interventional radiological and surgical technologies, and rehabilitation services.
- Developing maternity services including improved safety requirements and antenatal care.
- Developing children’s services including tiered approach to specialist care and integration with social care and CAMHS.
- Developing adult and elderly care including well-being and mental health care, and frailty services, possibly under a new funding model.
Underpinning the above will be the need to fund the growth of data capture and analytical services – AI/machine learning- and data storage and access to the digital lakes.
This session will be delivered by Dr Patricia Oakley, Director, Practices made Perfect Ltd. & Workforce Research Fellow, King’s College, London
