Event / HFMA Eastern branch: lunch & learn - Assessing financial governance

In April, the HFMA published Improving NHS financial sustainability: are you getting the basics right? This includes a self-assessment intended to help finance teams to think about the core financial controls and other elements that should be in place to support board assurance over an NHS organisation’s financial sustainability.

As set out in a letter from Julian Kelly in May, all systems and organisations will be required to commission internal audit to produce a report for audit committees (using the HFMA briefing) highlighting areas of weakness in financial governance and prescribing remedial action.
