Event / HFMA Eastern Branch: Accounting Standards Update 2021

All your questions on the latest accounting standards update plus a refresh on accounting for leases will be answered in an online workshop led by Steven Wareing, Department of Health and Social Care, and chaired by Andy Ray.

This year’s webinar will include two additional sessions i) the ‘view from an auditor’ looking at issues from last year and items to be aware of this coming year-end. This important and informative session will be presented by Ben Sheriff, partner at Deloitte; and ii) view from NHSEI on lessons learnt from 2021/21 presented by Rachel Owen, Head of Financial Accounting and Taxation – Financial Accounting and Taxation, NHSEI.

The session will provide an invaluable update on IFRS16 leasing which is going to have significant impact on the NHS, plus other new and topical accounting issues that you will encounter in the coming financial year-end. Looking ahead to future changes, Steven will also give a briefing about new developments which may impact organisation’s financial reporting, and Ben being able to give an auditors perspective.
