Overview
All business entities, whether operating in a public sector funded mainly by government or operating wholly commercially, need to understand and control their costs. In healthcare systems costs tend to be finite or at the very least heavily constrained. This course examines the relationship between cost and value and the challenge of linking costs to outcomes required to achieve best value. On completion, you will be able to able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the principal classifications of costs in NHS organisations and of the usage of cost behaviour analyses in NHS planning and management.
