News / New accounts guides
The HFMA and the Audit Commission have completely updated their popular accounts guides.
The rewritten guides reflect the requirement to prepare accounts according to international financial reporting standards. They are aimed at non-executive directors to help improve their understanding of the accounts and support them in asking pertinent questions and in challenging executive colleagues over the entries.
Three guides for NHS trusts, primary care trusts and foundation trusts are now available for free download (see below). A special concise guide aimed at FT governors has also been published.
Printed versions of the main sector-specific guides are being sent directly to all non-executives. FT chairmen will also receive copies of the governors’ guide, which they can share with members of their governing body. Finance directors and chief executives will also be sent complimentary copies.
