Comment / Awards contenders unveiled
A total of 26 organisations or individuals have been shortlisted for this year’s HFMA Awards.
Three finance directors aim to succeed last year’s winner, Steve Webster, as Finance Director of the Year: Neil Kemsley, NHS Devon; Tony Whitfield, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust; and David Melbourne, Birmingham Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Three organisations have been shortlisted for the Accounts Team of the Year Award – The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Tees. The Award recognises the most effective, innovative and efficient accounts team from the perspective of the processes performed throughout the year as well as at year-end.
This year sees the launch of a Costing Award to recognise improvements in costing processes. Three organisations are shortlisted: Cardiff and Vale University Health Board; Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust; and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
