Artificial Intelligence (AI) has moved from science fiction into our present everyday conversations, which brings with it both potential opportunities and concerns. The goal of AI research is to create more sophisticated digital systems that are capable of intelligent behaviour and can be used to improve various aspects of our lives, from healthcare and education to transportation and entertainment.

With a wealth of knowledge and expertise in nursing informatics research and education, Dr O’Connor explores the opportunities and threats presented by the growing prevalence of AI technologies in healthcare settings with a focus on the nursing profession. She further discusses how AI is currently being used in the NHS and in higher education settings.

This webinar was hosted in conjunction with the South West Digital Health and Care Network. If you are based in the South West with a role or interest in digital then you may be interested in joining the network. You can find out more information about the network which is open and free to all those working in the NHS or a social care organisation in the South West on our website.
